Ingredients:

  1. 2 ounces - gluten-free spaghetti broken into small pieces (2 oz. will equal about 1/2 cup of pieces)
  2. 3/4 cups - white rice
  3. 2 cups - chicken broth
  4. 2 tablespoons - unsalted butter
  5. 1 teaspoons - dried parsley
  6. 1/4 teaspoons - garlic powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoons - onion powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  9. 1/8 teaspoons - black pepper
  10. 1/8 tablespoons - MSG optional
  11. 2 tablespoons - chopped fresh parsley optional

Directions:

1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.

2. Add broken pasta to pan, stir and sauté for 3-5 minutes or until pasta begins to brown.

3. Add rice to pan and sauté for another 1-2 minutes to toast the rice.

4. Stir in chicken broth, herbs and spices (except fresh parsley) and increase heat to bring to a boil.

5. Once mixture comes to a boil, cover and reduce heat to low; cook for 15-17 minutes until rice and pasta are tender and broth is absorbed.

6. Stir in fresh parsley, if using. Serve and enjoy.
