Gingerbread Waffles

Ingredients:

  1. 2 - eggs separated, at room temperature
  2. 1/2 cups - dark brown sugar
  3. 1/2 cups - molasses
  4. 1/2 sticks - butter melted and cooled
  5. 2 cups - flour
  6. 2 teaspoons - ground ginger
  7. 1 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
  8. 1 1/2 teaspoons - cinnamon
  9. 1/4 teaspoons - ground cloves
  10. 2/3 cups - milk
  11. - vegetable oil to brush on waffle iron

Directions:

With electric mixer beat egg yolks and sugar together; add molasses and butter.

Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk to mixture.

Beat egg whites and fold into batter.
