Garlic Green Beans in Foil Packet for Campfire or Grill

  1. 1 pounds - fresh green beans trimmed
  2. 4 cloves - garlic thinly sliced
  3. 4 teaspoons - butter
  4. - salt and pepper to taste


Tear four sheets of heavy foil (about 18-x-30-inch pieces). Fold each in half crosswise and lightly coat foil with cooking spray.

Combine all ingredients and divide evenly among the four foil sheets, placing ingredients in center of sheets; bring up opposite edges of foil, and seal with a double fold. Fold remaining edges up to completely enclose food, leaving space for steam to build.

For campfire cooking: Place on top of campfire embers (not a full flame) or place on a grate over the embers, and cook for 5 minutes or until tender, turning once.

For grill cooking: Place packets on grill over medium heat for 10 minutes or until tender, using long tongs to turn packets once. Carefully open packets to allow steam to escape.
