Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups - sugar
  2. 1/3 cups - karo syrup (dark)
  3. 1/2 cups - milk
  4. 2 tablespoons - cocoa powder
  5. 1 tablespoons - vanilla
  6. 1/2 sticks - butter
  7. 2 1/2 cups - chopped pecans to taste

Directions:

Combine the sugar and cocoa in a sauce pan. Add the karo syrup and milk, stirring well.

Bring to a rolling boil, and then time it and let it boil for a full 2 minutes after it comes to the full fast boil.

Remove from burner, and place butter in the pan, but don't stir it or anything. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes of letting it sit, stir the butter into the mixture really good.

Add the pecans and then just stir by hand until you can tell it is beginning to get thicker. Pour into a buttered dish and cut it when cooled.
