Fried Louisiana Oyster

Ingredients:

  1. 4 dozen - large shelled oysters
  2. - salt and red pepper to taste
  3. - yellow cornmeal for coating

Directions:

Season oysters individually to taste so that each one gets the proper amount.

Heat deep fat oil to 380 degrees F.

Roll oysters in cornmeal, drop into hot fat and fry 2-3 minutes.

Do not over cook; this causes toughness.
