FRESH TOMATO SAUCE

Ingredients:

  1. 2 1/2 pounds - tomato
  2. 1 pieces - medium-sized onion sliced
  3. 1/2 cups - butter or margarine
  4. 1 1/4 teaspoons - salt
  5. 1/2 teaspoons - sugar
  6. 1/8 teaspoons - pepper

Directions:

Peel the tomatoes and cut them into bite-sized chunks. In a food processor with knife blade attached, blend the tomatoes and the onion until smooth and set aside.

Put a saucepan over medium heat and pour the pureed tomato mixture. Add butter, salt, sugar and pepper when it is already boiling. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, stirring frequently until sauce is thick.
