Fresh Strawberry Glazed Pie

  1. 1 - baked pie shell
  2. 3 pints - strawberries washed, hulled, halved
  3. 1/2 cups - plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
  4. 3 tablespoons - cornstarch
  5. - dash of salt
  6. 1 cups - boiling water
  7. 2 tablespoons - lemon juice
  8. 2 tablespoons - sugar
  9. - whipped cream for serving with


Mash 1 pint of strawberries in saucepan. Mix together sugar, cornstarch and dash of salt and mix into berries i pan. Add boiling water and cook on low, stirring until thick.

Stir in lemon juice.

Arrange halved berries face down in pie shell with remaining berries on top. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar. Pour glaze over strawberries.

Cool at room temperature. Serve with whipped cream.
