These beans remind me of the ones my great grandma used to make with green beans fresh from her garden simmered half the afternoon with bacon slices and fresh onion; but this version comes together quickly for a weeknight dinner.

Number of Servings:
- 5 cups - fresh green beans ends removed, cut in 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 cups - bacon bits
- 1 tablespoons - dried minced onion
- - salt and pepper to taste
In a medium saucepan, place the green beans and add enough water to just cover the beans. Add the bacon bits and minced onion along with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium and allow to simmer for 15 minutes or so until beans are crisp tender and flavors are blended.
