Five Spice Chicken

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tablespoons - Honey
  2. 2 whole - Onions peeled and sliced
  3. 2 teaspoons - Salt
  4. - 1 inch of Ginger peeled and sliced
  5. 4 cloves - Garlic
  6. 2 teaspoons - Chili Powder
  7. 1 tablespoons - Curry Powder
  8. 1 teaspoons - Turmeric Powder
  9. 1 pounds - Boneless Chicken cut into 1-inch cubes
  10. - Vegetable Oil for frying
  11. 5 sprigs - Curry Leaves can substitute basil

Directions:

1) Blend honey, onions, salt, and spices into a paste. Rub all over chicken. Let marinate at least 2 hours.

2) Heat oil over medium-high heat, deep-fry chicken until crispy and cooked through, about 3 minutes per piece. Work in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

3) Drain cooked cubes on paper-towel-lined plate, sprinkle with salt, to taste, and garnish with a few torn curry (or basil) leaves.

4) Serve individually on toothpicks, or stack two or three together on skewers.
