Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons - lard
- 2 cups - crushed vermicelli noodles
- 3 cups - beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups - water
- 3 tablespoons - tomato puree
- 1/3 cups - tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons - garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoons - black pepper
- 1 - fresh tomato diced
- 1 - small onion diced
- 1 - bell pepper diced
- 1 cups - diced carrots
- 3/4 cups - frozen peas thawed
Directions:
Heat lard in deep skillet or Dutch oven until almost smoking. Brown vermicelli in lard.
Add all other ingredients except bell pepper, carrot and peas; bring to a boil and let simmer for 25 minutes.
Add bell pepper and carrot and simmer 20 minutes longer. Stir in peas just before serving.
