Notes:
All-time, absolute favorite cake and has been a part of birthday celebrations around our house for years. The icing is also good on buttermilk cakes. This is the perfect cake for a beginner to make; truly failproof!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups - sugar
- 2 sticks - butter
- 1 cups - buttermilk
- 1 teaspoons - baking soda
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla
- 2 cups - flour
- 4 tablespoons - cocoa
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoons - cinnamon
- 1 sticks - butter
- 4 tablespoons - cocoa
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla
- 6 tablespoons - milk
- 2 cups - powdered sugar
Directions:
Cake:
Sift together the sugar and flour; set aside.
In a saucepan melt and mix the butter, cocoa and water. Heat until thoroughly combined. Pour over flour and sugar mixture in bowl.
Add buttermilk, beaten eggs, baking soda, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix well.
Pour into greased baking sheet pan and bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Icing:
Melt butter with milk and cocoa. Remove from heat and add powered sugar, stirring until smooth. Add vanilla and pour over cake while cake is still hot.
