Dressing Cornbread

Ingredients:

  1. 1/4 cups - shortening
  2. 1 cups - corn meal
  3. 1 cups - flour
  4. 4 teaspoons - baking powder
  5. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  6. 1 - egg
  7. 1 cups - milk

Directions:

Heat oven to 400 degrees F.

In an 8" or 9" pan or a 10-inch diameter skillet, melt shortening in oven (coating pan evenly).

Combine all dry ingredients; add melted shortening, egg and milk, and mix just until blended.

Pour into hot pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes.

Break up into bowl for dressing.
