Crispy Peanut Corn Treat

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cups - unsulfured molasses
  2. 1 cups - peanuts or half peanuts and half soy nuts
  3. 1 1/2 tablespoons - butter
  4. 9 cups - popped popcorn

Directions:

Simmer molasses over low heat in a small sauce pan for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until a bit of the mixture forms a soft ball when dropped into cool water.
Add butter and stir until it is melted.

Combine nuts and popcorn in a large bowl and pour hot molasses mixture over the top. Toss very well with 2 spoons or forks, being careful not to let molasses collect at the bottom of the bowl.

After the snack has cooled some, break it apart with your fingers so that it does not clump together. Store in a paper bag or wrap in wax paper.
