Country-Style Pork Ribs

Ingredients:

  1. 1 - large onion, sliced and separated into rings
  2. 3 pounds - pork country-style ribs
  3. 1 1/2 cups - vegetable juice cocktail
  4. 1/3 cups - tomato paste
  5. 1/4 cups - molasses
  6. 3 tablespoons - vinegar
  7. 1 teaspoons - dry mustard
  8. 1/4 teaspoons - salt
  9. 1/4 teaspoons - pepper
  10. 1/8 teaspoons - dried thyme, crushed
  11. 1/8 teaspoons - dried rosemary, crushed

Directions:

Place onion rings in a 3-1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker. Trim fat from ribs. Place over onions in cooker. In a medium bowl combine the remaining ingredients. Reserve 1 cup of the mixture for the sauce; cover and chill. Pour remaining mixture over ribs in cooker.

Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 10 to 12 hours or on high-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours.

For sauce, in a small saucepan heat reserved mixture to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove ribs from cooker to a serving dish; discard cooking liquid. Serve sauce with ribs.
