Cookie Press Cheese Straws

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cups - flour
  2. 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
  3. 1/2 cups - butter
  4. 1 cups - cheddar cheese shredded
  5. 3 tablespoons - cold water

Directions:

Sift flour with baking powder. Cut in butter and cheese as for a pie crust, using a pastry blender. Add cold water and mix well.
Fill cookie press (or roll dough out 1/8-inch thick onto lightly floured surface and cut into 1/4-inch wide strips). Form straws on ungreased cookie sheet, using star plate #2 or do as rosettes, if preferred. Cut into desired lengths and bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes.
