Karen's Christmas Cookie Bar Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 3/4 cups - butter
  2. 3/4 cups - granulated sugar
  3. 3/4 cups - light brown sugar firmly packed
  4. 1 teaspoons - pure vanilla extract
  5. 2 - large eggs
  6. 2 1/4 cups - all-purpose flour
  7. 1 teaspoons - baking soda
  8. 1 teaspoons - salt
  9. 3 cups - Christmas M&M's (Or can be a combination of M&M's and chocolate chips, etc.)

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 13x9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray, then cut a piece of parchment paper to fit inside the dish so that the bottom is completely covered. Spray the parchment paper with cooking spray too.

2. Combine the butter, vanilla, eggs and sugars and beat until light and creamy.

3. Add dry ingredients and beat for one minute, or until a thick dough forms.

4. Stir in M&M's, reserving some to sprinkle on top.

5. Pour into your baking dish.

6. Sprinkle top with reserved M&Ms.

7. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.

8. Cool completely and cut into squares.
