Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 16 tablespoons - (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cups - firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cups - granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons - vanilla extract
- 12 ounces - semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 1/2 cups - all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoons - baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoons - salt
Directions:
Have all ingredients at room temperature. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Over a sheet of waxed paper or bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In bowl of electric mixer with flat beater, beat butter on medium-low speed until smooth, about 30 seconds. Add brown and granulated sugars, increase the speed to medium and beat until slightly fluffy, about 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl after stopping mixer.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then beat in the vanilla, stopping mixer occasionally to scrape down sides of bowl. Reduce speed to low, gradually add flour mixture and beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake until golden brown, 10 to 14 minutes.
Transfer the pan to a cooling rack and let cookies cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to the rack and let cool completely. Repeat with remaining cookie dough.
