Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups - Sugar
  2. 2 cups - Flour
  3. 1/2 cups - Butter
  4. 1 cups - Water
  5. 4 tablespoons - Cocoa powder
  6. 1/2 cups - Shortening
  7. 1/2 cups - Buttermilk
  8. 1 teaspoons - Baking soda
  9. 2 - Eggs
  10. 1 tablespoons - Vanilla
  11. 2 cups - Sugar
  12. 2 cups - Flour
  13. 1/2 cups - Butter
  14. 1 cups - Water
  15. 4 tablespoons - Cocoa powder
  16. 1/2 cups - Shortening
  17. 1/2 cups - Buttermilk
  18. 1 teaspoons - Baking soda
  19. 2 - Eggs
  20. 1 tablespoons - Vanilla

Directions:

Mix flour and sugar in a bowl. In a pan melt butter, water, cocoa, and shortening. Pour over dry ingredients. Beat together with buttermilk, soda, eggs , and vanilla. Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Bake 20 min in preheated 400 oven.

Frosting: 1/2 cup butter, 2 Tablespoons cocoa, 4 Tablespoons milk. Boil together then add powder sugar until spreading consistency. About 2-3 cups. Spread on cake. Can sprinkle 1/2 cup walnuts if desired.
