Cherry Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 1 1/4 cups - Flour
  2. 1/2 cups - Sugar
  3. 1 1/2 teaspoons - Baking powder
  4. 1/4 teaspoons - Salt
  5. 4 tablespoons - Butter Softened
  6. 1 - Egg
  7. 3 tablespoons - Milk
  8. 1 teaspoons - Vanilla
  9. 1 cans - Cherry pie filling
  10. 1/2 teaspoons - Almond flavoring

Directions:

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in the butter and the add egg, milk, vanilla and almond flavoring. After mixed pour into greased 9 x 13 pan spreading out. Drop by spoon the cherry pie filling. In another bowl mix together crumb topping: 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 4 tablespoons softened butter. Spread the crumbs over cake. Bake 35-40 min in a preheated 350 oven.
Can be topped with a glaze: 1 1/2 c powdered sugar, 2 Tablespoons milk and 1/4 teaspoon vegetable oil.
