Ingredients:
- 3/4 cups - sugar
- 1 cups - flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoons - salt
- 1/3 cups - sugar
- 1/4 cups - shortening
- 2/3 cups - milk
- 2 cans - cherries unsweetened, in juice
Directions:
For topping, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and stir til well combined.
Pour cherries into 9-inch pie pan or baking dish and sprinkle the 3/4 cup of sugar over top of cherries. Spoon dough over top of cherries and sugar.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned.
