Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 1 - medium loaf French bread unsliced
- 1/2 cups - butter or margarine softened
- 2 cloves - garlic halved
- 1 teaspoons - dried parsley
- 1/3 cups - grated Parmesan cheese OR sliced provolone as desired
Directions:
To Make Ahead: combine butter garlic, parsley and Parmesan cheese as recipe directs; store in fridge for up to 3 days in advance. Soften at room temperature before using.
Preheat oven to 375° F. Cut slices down the length of bread loaf at 1-inch intervals, without cutting all the way through.
Rub slices and top of loaf with cut sides of garlic halves. Mince garlic.
Combine butter, garlic, parsley and Parmesan in a small bowl.
Spread butter mixture between bread slices and on top of loaf.
Wrap bread in foil, leaving top partially uncovered. Bake until heated through, about 15 minutes.
Note: For easier garlic peeling, microwave unpeeled garlic cloves on High for 10 to 20 seconds. Cool and store unpeeled cloves in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
