    This sauce can be used to make mac and cheese fish pie potato bakes Or just as a pouring sauce

  1. 5 tablespoons - Butter
  2. 1/4 cups - Plain flour
  3. 2 cups - Milk or soya milk
  4. 1/2 cups - Strong cheddar Grated/shredded


First your are going to make a roux witch is a flour and butter paste that thickens the sauce
Melt the butter in a medium sized pan on a medium heat
When melted stir in the flour to create a paste then add a quarter of your milk and stir untill it starts to thicken
Add the remaining milk change to a whisk and beat it like it stole your wallet till any lumps are gone
Continue stirring gently till the sauce has thickened and is starting to buble gently.
Stir in your cheese . Taste and add more cheese if required
