Cheddar Burgers with Jalapenos

  1. 2 tablespoons - finely minced onion
  2. - salt and pepper
  3. 4 tablespoons - cream cheese
  4. 1/4 cups - shredded cheddar cheese
  5. 1/4 teaspoons - garlic powder
  6. 1 - fresh jalapeno pepper diced and seeds removed
  7. 1 tablespoons - olive oil
  8. - rolls and toppings as desired
  9. 28 ounces - lean turkey or beef


Preheat grill to medium heat or turn oven on to broil on high.

In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder and diced jalapeno.

Combine meat, salt and pepper and minced onion. Divide meat into four even sections. Form one-fourth of the cream cheese mixture into a flattened pancake shape; wrap meat around cheese, making sure the cheese is completely covered. Brush each burger with a little bit of olive oil.

To Grill: Cook burgers on grill over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until completely cooked through.

To Broil: Place burgers on foil-lined pan about 6 inches from the broiler; cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until completely cooked through.
