If using a glass pitcher for serving chai, be sure to warm up the pitcher before adding the hot chai.

Ingredients:
- 4 cups - water
- 4 cups - milk
- 1 sticks - cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons - whole cloves
- 1/2 teaspoons - black pepper corns
- 1/2 teaspoons - green cardamom seeds
- 1 - star anise
- 1 whole - nutmeg
- 1 teaspoons - fresh ginger peeled, minced
- 8 teaspoons - loose black tea leaves
- 1/4 cups - honey or sugar
Directions:
Bring the water and milk to a boil in a saucepan. Add remaining ingredients (except honey or sugar) and turn the heat down to a simmer; cover and steep for about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain. Add honey or sugar and mix well.
Can be served hot or cold and stored in refrigerator.
