Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 6 - ice cream sugar cones
- 1 packages - white candy melts
- - white and blue sugar crystals decorating, optional
- - sugar pearls or other shaped confections decorating, optional
- - shredded coconut decorating, optional
Directions:
Pour half of candy melts into shallow microwave-proof bowl and melt according to package directions until smooth. Allow to cool a minute or two. Individually roll each sugar cone in melted candy to give it a base coat (easiest to roll and lift cones by inserting two fingers into centers) and then set it, point side up, on a wax-paper lined tray and allow candy coating to set up.
Re-melt remaining candy in the bowl, adding more to it if needed. Now, working with one cone at a time, use a butter knife or spreader to spread on a second layer of melted candy (don't worry about it being smooth as the trees will look better if applied unevenly to create texture). Before second layer of candy coating hardens, decorate each tree by sprinkling on colored sugars or pressing sugar pearls or shapes or shredded coconut against it. Allow coating to set up once again and then your trees are ready to serve or display.
