Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients:

  1. 3 cups - flour
  2. 1 tablespoons - baking powder
  3. 1 tablespoons - sugar
  4. 1 teaspoons - baking soda
  5. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  6. 2/3 cups - shortening
  7. 1 cups - buttermilk
  8. 3 cups - flour
  9. 1 tablespoons - baking powder
  10. 1 tablespoons - sugar
  11. 1 teaspoons - baking soda
  12. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  13. 2/3 cups - shortening
  14. 1 cups - buttermilk

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt in bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture is coarse. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add buttermilk and stir until a soft dough forms. Turn out dough onto well-floured surface. Knead 10 times and roll into 8" square. Cut into 16 2" squares. Place squares on baking sheets. Bake about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Best served warm.
