Ingredients:
- 4 cups - broccoli
- 1/2 cups - onion chopped
- 2 cans - chicken broth (4 cups)
- 1/8 teaspoons - garlic powder
- 1/2 cups - butter
- 1/2 cups - flour
- 1/8 teaspoons - pepper
- 2 cups - light cream or half & half or 1 cup each milk & heavy cream
- 8 ounces - cheddar cheese grated
- 4 cups - broccoli
- 1/2 cups - onion chopped
- 2 cans - chicken broth (4 cups)
- 1/8 teaspoons - garlic powder
- 1/2 cups - butter
- 1/2 cups - flour
- 1/8 teaspoons - pepper
- 2 cups - light cream or half & half or 1 cup each milk & heavy cream
- 8 ounces - cheddar cheese grated
Directions:
Combine chicken broth, onion, broccoli and garlic powder in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered for about 15 minutes or until tender. Using a blender (if you have a hand blender, it is a lot easier to do in the pot), puree 1/3 of the mixture at a time until smooth. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, stir in flour and pepper blending until smooth using a wire whisk. Add cream/milk gradually. Cook, whisking constantly, until thickened. Add to broccoli mixture. Add cheese and heat through, but do not boil.
