This is my mother-in-law, Jeannine Stewart's, recipe. I love it because it is SO SIMPLE and I don't have to go outside to the grill:) It originally called for liquid smoke, which has excito-toxins in it. I've been very happy to substitute smoked sea salt from Mountain Rose Herbs. Please do click on this link :http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/index.php?AID=123519 to shop at our affiliate page, instead of going to their main website. I use Wizard brand worcestershire sauce from Sunflower Shoppe, because it has no excitotoxins in it. If you aren't local, and can't find Wizard, I do have a recipe for worcestershire. Just email tammy@healthforapurpose.com. Be sure to read the ingredients on all the seasonings you buy, to be sure there are no toxins or bad fats in them. You will be very surprised where those ingredients are hidden!

Number of Servings:

Ingredients:

  1. 1 1/2 teaspoons - worcestershire sauce
  2. 1 teaspoons - onion salt
  3. 2 teaspoons - celery salt
  4. 1 teaspoons - garlic salt
  5. 1 teaspoons - black pepper

Directions:

Mix together all the ingredients and rub on all sides of a GRASS FED brisket half, then sprinkle both sides lightly with smoked sea salt. Store in the frig overnight. If you cover it with foil, be sure the (aluminum) foil doesn't touch the food. I put mine in a 9x13 baking stone and tent with foil. Next day, cook 5 hours at 250, open and add 1 cup BBQ sauce. Close foil and cook 2 more hours. Open and cook one hour more. It is VERY hard to find commercial BBQ sauce without excitotoxins or corn syrup. I make my own. The recipe is on this site.
