Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Ingredients:

  1. 8 slices - bread
  2. - butter or margarine
  3. 1 pounds - bulk pork sausage
  4. 1 1/2 cups - cheddar cheese
  5. 8 - eggs
  6. 2 cups - milk
  7. 1 teaspoons - salt
  8. 1/2 teaspoons - pepper

Directions:

Remove crusts from bread slices; spread bread slices with butter. Place in a 13x9-inch baking dish and set aside. Cook sausage until brown, stirring to crumble; drain well. Spoon over bread slices; sprinkle with cheese. Combine eggs, milk, salt and pepper; mix well and pour over cheese. Cover casserole and chill overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake casserole, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until set.
