Bourbon Pecan Stuffing

Ingredients:

  1. 2 stalks - celery finely chopped
  2. 1 - medium onion chopped
  3. 1/2 cups - butter
  4. 1 cups - pecans chopped
  5. 2 tablespoons - fresh thyme snipped
  6. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  7. 1/4 teaspoons - pepper
  8. 8 cups - dry bread cubes from a hearty loaf
  9. 2 tablespoons - bourbon
  10. 1 cups - turkey or chicken broth

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a small skillet, cook celery and onion in hot butter until tender. Stir in pecans and thyme. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place bread cubes and vegetables in a large bowl. Drizzle with bourbon and enough broth to moisten (3/4 to 1 cup), tossing to combine.
Place in a 2-quart baking dish. Bake, uncovered, for 50-55 minutes or until bread on top begins to crisp.
