Ingredients:

  1. 1 boxes - chocolate cake mix including ingredients listed on side of box
  2. 1 cans - cherry pie filling
  3. 1 cans - chocolate frosting (pre-made)
  4. 1 containers - cool whip

Directions:

Make chocolate cake in two layer pans as directed on box. Let cool. Cut each layer horizontally so now you have 4 layers. Set aside 1/2 cup cherry filling. Layer cherries and chocolate frosting on three layers of cake. Put the 4th layer on top and frost the sides and top of the cake with cool whip, except for a round "nest" on top center. Put 1/2 cup cherry filling inside the "nest". Loosely cover and refrigerate.
