Beverly's Fudge Ribbon Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tablespoons - Butter
  2. 8 packages - Cream cheese 8 oz pkg
  3. 1 tablespoons - Corn starch
  4. 3 - Eggs
  5. 2 tablespoons - Milk
  6. 1 1/3 cups - Milk Yes, that much milk
  7. 1 1/2 teaspoons - Vanilla
  8. 2 cups - Flour
  9. 1 teaspoons - Salt
  10. 1 teaspoons - Baking powder
  11. 1 1/2 teaspoons - Asking soda
  12. 1/2 cups - Butter
  13. 4 envelopes - Choco-bake
  14. 1/4 cups - Sugar

Directions:

Cream 2 tsp butter with cream cheese, sugar, and corn starch. Add 1 egg, 2T milk and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
Grease and flour bottom of 13x9 cake pan. Combine flour with 2c sugar, salt, baking powder, and soda in a large bowl. Add 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup milk. Blend well at lowest speed of mixer for 1 1/2 minutes. Add 1/3 c. Milk, 2 eggs, Choco-bake, and vanilla extract; continue beating 1 1/2 minutes at low speed.
Spread half of batter in pan. Spoon cheese mixture over batter, spreading carefully to cover. Top with remaining batter.
Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes until cake springs back when touched lightly.
