Beef Wellington

Ingredients:

  1. 3 pounds - filet of beef
  2. 1/2 pounds - liverwurst
  3. 1/4 cups - chopped green onion
  4. 2 tablespoons - chopped parsley
  5. 1 tablespoons - Worcestershire sauce
  6. 1 - sheet of Pepperidge Farm Frozen Puff Pastry
  7. 1 - egg beaten

Directions:

Roast beef as desired to within 1/2 hour of doneness. Cool.

Thaw folded pastry sheet about 20 minutes; unfold gently.

Blend liverwurst, onion, parsley and Worcestershire sauce; set aside.

Spread liverwurst mixture over pastry surface. Wrap meat in pastry, spread side inside. Seal edges well with water.

Decorate with strips of pastry. Brush with beaten egg. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Price surface with fork.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Variation: Individual Beef Wellingtons
Use 4 filets about 1-1/2-inch thick. Brown beef in 1 tablespoon butter. Wrap each in 1/4 pastry sheet. Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes or until golden.
