Ingredients:

  1. 2 pounds - lean chuck roast
  2. 2 teaspoons - bacon drippings
  3. 2 - medium to large sweet onions sliced
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons - flour
  5. 1 teaspoons - marjoram
  6. 1 teaspoons - thyme
  7. 1 cans - beef broth
  8. 1 1/2 cups - red wine
  9. 1/2 pounds - mushrooms sliced

Directions:

1. Sauté sliced onions in bacon drippings.

2. Cube beef and sauté.

3. Sprinkle in flour and herbs; add wine and beef broth.

4. Simmer 3-1/4 hours. Add in onions and sliced mushrooms and cook 20 minutes more.
