Number of Servings:

Ingredients:

  1. 6 - Potato Buns
  2. 2 - Yellow Onions finely chopped
  3. 6 cloves - Garlic minced
  4. 10 tablespoons - Butter
  5. 1 3/4 cups - Chili Sauce or Ketchup
  6. 1/2 cups - Dark Brown Sugar packed
  7. 1/2 cups - Worcestershire Sauce
  8. 9 tablespoons - Cider or White Wine Vinegar
  9. 1 cups - Black Coffee or Water
  10. 1/2 teaspoons - Ground Ginger
  11. 1 teaspoons - Prepared Horseradish
  12. 3 teaspoons - Chili Powder
  13. 2 teaspoons - Salt
  14. 1/2 teaspoons - Pepper
  15. 3 drops - Hot Sauce
  16. 7 cups - Turkey shredded
  17. 6 cups - Lettuce shredded

Directions:

Slice potato buns in half horizontally. Spread cut sides with butter and grill, broil or pan-fry until golden. Set aside.

In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, sauté yellow onions, finely chopped, garlic and 10 tablespoons butter, until onions are soft, 5-10 minutes. Add chili sauce or ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, cider or white-wine vinegar, black coffee or water, ground ginger, prepared horseradish, chili powder, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. (If sauce is too thick, add more black coffee or water to thin.) Add cooked turkey, and simmer 1-2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Assemble sandwiches: Divide turkey mixture and lettuce among bottom halves of buns. Top sandwiches with remaining bun halves. Cut each sandwich in half to serve.
