Ingredients:

  1. 1 loaves - banana bread
  2. 3 - large bananas sliced
  3. 2 cups - milk
  4. 1 cups - heavy cream
  5. 1/2 cups - sugar
  6. 3 - large egg yolks whisked together
  7. 1 - large egg
  8. 1 tablespoons - vanilla
  9. 1 teaspoons - nutmeg
  10. pinchs - salt
  11. 4 tablespoons - butter
  12. 3 tablespoons - brown sugar
  13. 2 tablespoons - lemon juice
  14. 1/2 cups - rum
  15. 1/4 cups - water
  16. 2 cups - whipping cream whipped

Directions:

For Pudding:
Whisk together the milk, heavy cream and sugar. Add whisked egg yolks, egg, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.

Layer casserole with sliced banana bread, banana slices, and cover with custard (pudding); repeat layers.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, for Rum Sauce:
In a saucepan on the stove, melt butter, and then whisk in the brown sugar, lemon juice, rum and water. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve in a pitcher with bowl of whipped cream for topping the banana bread pudding.
