Banana Bonanza Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 2/3 cups - margarine
  2. 1 2/3 cups - sugar
  3. 3 - eggs
  4. 1 1/4 cups - mashed bananas
  5. 2 1/4 cups - flour
  6. 1 1/4 teaspoons - baking powder
  7. 1 1/4 teaspoons - baking soda
  8. 1 teaspoons - salt
  9. 2/3 cups - buttermilk
  10. 2/3 cups - chopped nuts
  11. 1 cups - packed brown sugar
  12. 1/2 cups - margarine melted
  13. 1/4 cups - milk
  14. 3 cups - sifted confectioners' sugar

Directions:

For Cake:

Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy; blend in eggs and banana. Add combined dry ingredients to c reamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition. Stir in nuts.

Pour into greased and floured 13-x-9-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool. Frost.

For Frosting:

Combine brown sugar, margarine and milk in saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool 10 minutes. Gradually add confectioners' sugar, beating until well blended.
