Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 5 tablespoons - butter
- 1 - onion sliced
- 1 - granny smith apple peeled, cored, sliced
- 1/2 packages - 17.3 oz. frozen puff pastry sheets thawed
- 1 - round 8 oz. Brie cheese
Directions:
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Set aside 1 tablespoon melted butter. Add onion and apple to remaining butter in skillet; cook, stirring, until tender and brown, about 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool for 20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Unfold pastry on a lightly floured surface, and set Brie in center. Top Brie with apple and onion mixture. Brush pastry edges with water to moisten. Fold pastry over top of Brie, and pinch edges closed to seal. Brush with reserved tablespoon of melted butter (or brush with a little lightly beaten egg to protect against the cheese leaking through).
Bake until golden brown, about 25 - 30 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
