Baked Apples with Chocolate and Almonds

Ingredients:

  1. 4 - apples
  2. 1/4 cups - almond butter
  3. 1/4 cups - shredded c oconut
  4. 3 tablespoons - chopped almonds
  5. 3 tablespoons - dark chocolate chips
  6. 4 teaspoons - maple syrup

Directions:

Remove the core of the apples and cut off the tops with the stems.

Mix together the almond butter, coconut, chopped almonds, chocolate chips and maple syrup.

Divide the mixture evenly among the 4 apples, placing a little bit in the center of each apple. Top the apples with a sprinkle of chopped almonds and coconut, if desired.

Bake, covered with aluminum foil, at 350 degrees F until tender, about 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 5 minutes more.
