Bacon Potato Chowder

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pounds - bacon
  2. 1 - onion chopped
  3. 2 1/2 cups - milk
  4. 16 ounces - whole kernel corn drained
  5. 1/4 teaspoons - thyme leaves (optional)
  6. 4 cups - potatoes cubed
  7. 16 ounces - sour cream
  8. 2 cans - cream of chicken soup
  9. 1/2 teaspoons - pepper
  10. 8 ounces - cheddar cheese

Directions:

Slice bacon into small pieces. Cook bacon in skillet until brown. Reserve drippings. Use half of bacon drippings and add potatoes and onion to it and cook until tender, about 20 minutes. Transfer into large pan and add remaining ingredients. Continue cooking; stirring occasionally until heated. At this time I add the cheese, because this is the way my family likes it.
