Apple pie sugar free

  1. 1 - Pie crust Double pie crust
  2. 3 tablespoons - Cornstarch
  3. 1 cups - Xylo sweet
  4. 3/4 teaspoons - Ground cinnamon
  5. 1/4 teaspoons - Ground nutmeg
  6. 1/4 teaspoons - Salt
  7. 8 whole - Granny Smith apples Medium apples cored and slicedl


Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Roll half the pastry on floured surface into circle 1 inch larger than inverted 9-inch pan. Ease pastry into pan.

Combine cornstarch, Xylo sweet, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; sprinkle over apples in large bowl and toss. Arrange apples in pie crust.

Roll remaining pastry into circle large enough to fit top of pie. Cut hearts into pastry with cutters; place pastry on pie; seal edges, trim and flute. Press hearts on pastry. Use egg wash on top and sprinkle cinnamon on top.

Protect the edge of the crust with foil until about 10 minutes are left. Then remove the foil for the final 10 minutes.

Bake in preheated 425 degree oven until pastry is golden and apples are tender. 40 to 50 minutes. Cool on wire rack. It may drip in oven so put something under the pie on the rack below the pie.
