Number of Servings:

Ingredients:

  1. 3/4 cups - sugar
  2. 1 1/2 cups - canned milk 1 can
  3. 3 tablespoons - plain flour
  4. 4 tablespoons - cocoa powder
  5. 1/2 sticks - butter 4 tablespoons
  6. 3 - eggs
  7. 1 teaspoons - vanilla

Directions:

Mix all of the ingredients in a double boiler and heat to medium heat (or use low heat if not using a double boiler, so the mixture will not curdle -- if it does become lumpy, strain). Stir (continually if you do not use a double boiler) until mixture thickens (might take 20 minutes or so). Allow to cool and serve the mixture as pudding, or pour the heated mixture into a prepared pie shell and bake about 15 minutes at 350 degrees F. Top with whipped topping after it has cooled completely or top with meringue (see Nanny's Lemon Meringue Pie recipe for meringue directions).
