Anise Squares

Ingredients:

  1. 4 cups - Granulated sugar
  2. 2 cups - Light corn syrup
  3. 1 cups - Water
  4. 1 teaspoons - Oil of Anise
  5. 1 teaspoons - Red food color

Directions:

In large heavy sauce pan, boil sugar, water and corn syrup to 310°. Stir only until sugar is melted. Remove from heat. Let stand a few minutes, then add anise oil and color.

Pour into well oiled jelly roll pan (or pans, depending on thickness desired). Mark into squares as it cools, then break when cold.
