Almond Cake with Kirsch

Ingredients:

  1. 3/4 cups - Sugar
  2. 1 sticks - Butter
  3. 7 ounces - Almond Paste in pieces
  4. 3 - Large Eggs
  5. 1 tablespoons - Kirsch (Clear cherry brandy)
  6. 1/2 teaspoons - Almond extract
  7. 1/4 teaspoons - Salt
  8. 1/3 cups - Cake Flour
  9. 1/2 teaspoons - Baking Powder
  10. - Powdered Sugar
  11. 3/4 cups - Sugar
  12. 1 sticks - Butter
  13. 7 ounces - Almond Paste in pieces
  14. 3 - Large Eggs
  15. 1 tablespoons - Kirsch (Clear cherry brandy)
  16. 1/2 teaspoons - Almond extract
  17. 1/4 teaspoons - Salt
  18. 1/3 cups - Cake Flour
  19. 1/2 teaspoons - Baking Powder
  20. - Powdered Sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8" cake pan
Beat the sugar and butter until light and creamy. Add almond paste one piece at a time.
Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add Kirsch, almond extract, and salt. Mix flour and baking powder and add to batter until just blended.
Place into cake pan and smooth top. Bake 30-35 minutes; cool on rack.
Transfer cake to platter and dust heavily with powdered sugar.
