Notes:
Rare family recipe passed down; it took me years to try it because it didn't sound appealing. Once I tried it, it's a family staple at get-togethers.

Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pounds - American cheese (Kraft processed cheese slices = 1 pkg of 24)
- 1 packages - 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 cans - Ro-Tel tomatoes do not drain
- 1 packages - large cooked shrimp (fresh or frozen - thawed)
- 1 - small onion minced
- 2 cloves - minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons - Tabasco pepper sauce
- 1 - large bag of Fritos Scoops for serving
Directions:
In a large non-stick pot, melt cheeses and then add other ingredients (except shrimp) and keep temperature low, simmering about 15 minutes. (Best done in a double boiler so the cheese doesn't burn).
Add fresh boiled shrimp or add thawed frozen shrimp in last 5 minutes of cooking.
(Best if made and refrigerated a day ahead). Heat can be adjusted by using spicier versions of Ro-Tel tomatoes or adding more Tabasco.
Serve warm or cold; our chip of preference is Frito Scoops.
