Shepherd's Pie Simplistic

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pounds - (500 g) ground beef
  2. 2 tablespoons - (30 mL) cooking oil
  3. 1/2 cups - (125 mL) chopped celery
  4. 1/2 cups - (125 mL) chopped onion
  5. 2 tablespoons - (30 mL) all-purpose flour
  6. 1 teaspoons - (5 mL) salt
  7. 1/4 teaspoons - (1 mL) pepper
  8. 1 cups - (250 mL) boiling water
  9. 1 - beef bouillon cube
  10. 3 cups - (700 mL) mashed potatoes

Directions:

Combine beef, oil, celery and onion in frying pan. Scramble fry until brown.

Stir in flour, salt and pepper.

Pour boiling water over bouillon cube; dissolve. Pour into meat mixture, and stir until boiling and thickened.

Spread into 1-1/2 quart (1.5L) casserole dish. Cover with mashed potatoes.

Bake uncovered in 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) oven for 30 minutes until heated through and potatoes are browned.
