    I often make these without giving them any time to rise, and they still turn out puffy and delicious. So, not to worrry if you don't have time for that.

  1. 1 packages - active dry yeast
  2. 1 cups - lukewarm water
  3. 1 whole - egg
  4. 1/4 cups - sugar
  5. 1 teaspoons - salt
  6. 1/4 cups - oil or melted butter
  7. 3 cups - flour


Preheat oven to 400. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add egg, sugar, salt and oil (or melted butter). Add half the flour and beat until smooth. Add rest of flour and beat again until smooth. Fill greased muffin pans half full and let rise until double. Bake for 15 minutes. Brush tops with butter while still warm.
