Pear Cobbler with Orange Streusel

Ingredients:

  1. 4 - ripe Bartlett or Anjou pears
  2. 6 tablespoons - sugar
  3. 1/4 cups - orange juice
  4. 3/4 cups - flour
  5. 1 tablespoons - orange zest
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoons - cinnamon
  7. 1/2 teaspoons - nutmeg
  8. 1/3 cups - cold butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Peel pears and dice into 1/2-inch pieces. Place in your temp-tations 2 quart oven-proof bowl and toss with 2 tablespoons of sugar and orange juice.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, remaining sugar, orange zest, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Cut butter into small pieces and add to the flour mixture. Use a pastry blender or two forks to incorporate butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over pears.

Bake for 40 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
