Hard Knots

Ingredients:

  1. 1 dozen - eggs
  2. 2 teaspoons - anise
  3. 9 cups - flour
  4. 6 teaspoons - baking powder
  5. 1 1/3 cups - sugar
  6. 1/2 cups - butter
  7. - water and powdered sugar for glaze
  8. 1 dozen - eggs
  9. 2 teaspoons - anise
  10. 9 cups - flour
  11. 6 teaspoons - baking powder
  12. 1 1/3 cups - sugar
  13. 1/2 cups - butter
  14. - water and powdered sugar for glaze

Directions:

Beat eggs and anise.

Mix flour and baking powder and sugar by hand.

Melt butter; pour over dough and hand mix real good.

Take size of egg and roll out on small amount of flour like a clothes line. Tie in a loose knot.

Place in greased pan; bake at 250 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not brown.

Ice with water and powdered sugar. Pour over knots in a large pan.
