Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 2 bags - 16 oz. shredded cole slaw mix the kind with shredded carrots and red cabbage
- 3 bunches - green onions sliced until you no longer get round slices
- 2 packages - Top Ramen noodles broken into pieces
- 8 ounces - sunflower seeds
- 6 ounces - slivered almonds slivered, not sliced
- 3/4 cups - salad oil (I use canola oil)
- 3/4 cups - seasoned rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons - sugar
- 1 tablespoons - coarse ground black pepper
Directions:
Layer the salad ingredients in a large container (I use a Tupperware cake carrier upside d own). I divide the cabbage into 4 parts, the other ingredients into 3 parts, then alternate starting and ending with the cabbage (not actually necessary, but makes mixing the salad easier and quicker).
Combine salad dressing ingredients and mix well. Pour over salad just before serving and stir to combine.
Note: If you buy sunflower seeds in a 7.5 or 8 oz. jar, the dressing will fit into the empty jar. It's easy to transport to a potluck and you can throw the jar away after mixing the salad; less to worry about taking home.
